Hello MLDXCC'ers,

Just a reminder that the ARRL 10 Meter contest is this weekend, beginning at 0000 UTC, Saturday (this afternoon at 4 PM PST), December 8 and ending at 2359 UTC Sunday.  Last year, we had 10 participants and placed #16 out of 38 entrants in the club competition.  We had some huge scores from KF6T, WC6H, N6JV, and P40K.  This is not one of our serious contests, but it's always nice to see MLDXCC on the boards when the ARRL does their write up.

Although CW is a big part of this contest, phone-only operators can still have a lot of fun running 10 meters.  4 points for each CW contact.  2 points for each phone contact.

Just about anything goes for mults.  All Canadian provinces, all US States including HI and AK and DC, all Mexican states, all other DX, and ITU regions for maritime mobiles.

Hopefully, we should have some DX openings this weekend to EU and Africa.  South America and the Caribbean are a given.

I have a house full of hams visiting this weekend.  Out of the batch, the one who seems to have an interest in contesting is my son's girlfriend.  I'll be teaching her to run.  She will probably use her own call sign (KB1YAG).  I'll try to find some time to run some CW with my own call.

So, if you have some time for fun this weekend, the 10 meter contest is a good one!  Remember MLDXCC when you submit your score.
