Spent some time at W7RN building station - I'm calling it "let's see how
many VFOs are too many" - and building antennas, and a few hours in the
JARTS (Japan WW RTTY Contest). I had forgotten how much fun this one was -
lots of activity! Next month: WAE. - jeff wk6i

Comments:

This weekend was all about test driving some station improvements in
anticipation of future RTTY (and other) contests. Most of Friday night was
getting the bugs out of a new station setup. Saturday morning got to enjoy
the
bands opening up, then it was time to build antennas for the day. Operated
the
evening and decided getting rest was the better part of valor, looked like
everyone else also had the same idea because there wasn't much activity on
the
lower bands later on. Got up for Sunday and operated a few hours, which
watching what is supposed to be our first big Sierra storm blow in. Decided
being caught on the wrong side of the passes would be a bad idea so I
wrapped
up a few hours early (but the good news I got to enjoy the high country fall
colors one more time). Thanks again to Tom and Midge for the hospitality! -
