. . peaking on Friday night, Sat morning, the first day of ARRL 10M.

Once in a while the ARRL 10m contest coincides with the Geminids meteor
shower.

An announcement to CQ-contest might bring out a few participants to work
close in stations late Friday night. While this activity won't add too
much to scores, it's kind of fun. Some stations might pick up multipliers
within the skip zone. Visual meteor obs. not good this year -- moon is 92%
full.

*"December 13-14, 2013, mid-evening until dawn, Geminids*
Radiating from near the bright stars Castor and Pollux in the constellation
Gemini the Twins, the Geminid meteor shower is one of the finest meteors
showers visible in either the Northern or the Southern Hemisphere. The
meteors are plentiful, rivaling the August Perseids, with perhaps 50 to 100
meteors per hour visible at the peak"
