[Mldxcc] Fw: [NCCC] ARRL 10M

I intend to operate in the 160 and 10 meter contest for MLDXCC. My
understanding was that we would also do the RTTY/RU for MLDXCC and not
NCCC.

NOTE: Scores for CQWW CW are due today. Get you scores to me.

Last year we were 10th in Medium category with 4.9 mil + points in ARRL
10M. Added to NCCC score makes it 3rd instead of 5th.
IMO, difficult to compete against east coast due to population density.
Once band is 'closed', they can work a lot on ground wave
      &
scatter.
Also, IMO, we ought to make some sort of determination as to which contests
we do emphasize.
According to NCCC's contest calendar, club has RTTY RU as a
      'focus'
event. MLDXCC also has it as a 'focus' event. Not much has been
      said
by NCCC that I have heard. IMO, we need to make a determination
      well
ahead, publicize and coordinate so that people can make a choice.

I like your idea, Bill. MLDXCC members usually do this contest, but it is
not one of our focus contests.

members would specify NCCC on their ARRL 10M logs if we want to make a run
at this one.

in ARRL 10m, so the x2 ratio is probably conservative. Benefits of 10M
contest: mostly daylight hours; easier low power band vs. SS; simpler
exchange; modest antenna requirements.
