Hi All
I need some help.
My 10-20M tri-bander quit working! All was OK until near the end of last weeks 10M contest, I picked up a bug on Sunday and I was under the weather most all week, so I didn’t feel up to going out side for an investigation. Feeling a lot better today, I just checked the feed-line from antenna switch to antenna, and the antenna has a high SWR on all bands, and is not hearing much of anything. I looked at the feed-point with my field glasses and it looks like the screws are secure, but maybe the balun has croaked.
I have a 3 element StepIR that is on the ground and ready to up to replace the existing antenna (yes it’s been checked by two of us for function and SWR).
So what I really need is a small crew 2-3 guys (one that climbs) (ASAP) that can help me remove/replace the existing antenna. The tower is a crank-up so the (climbing person) would be at 20’, The rest of us would be performing rope pulling and support for what ever is required. I have ALL the necessary tools, ropes and a climbing belt, the estimated time is probably 2-4 hours max. and I’ll be buying our crew breakfast or lunch when we finish.
Since the FT4TA expedition is on, I would sure like to get this done ASAP, cause’ I need em’ on many bands!
Thanks
de Rick,W6SR
