[Mldxcc] CQWW RTTY 80/40 & JA notes for the NCCC member...

TL;DR: Work JA for 3 points each in the CQWW RTTY. Learn where to find them
on the band. Yes JA on 80/40 happens in the middle of the night, you can
nap later. ;)

80m: Remember you can't go above 3600, as much as you might want to.

In general it is good to familiarize yourself with the JA RTTY bandplan,
since 3 point JA contacts are our bread and butter:

On 80 JA is permitted to operate in three segments, 3525-3535, 3535-3575,
3599-3612. Note that within the middle segment they are only allowed to
make DX contacts, no JA to JA. While this is a DX contest they also care
about those 1 point Qs within JA - so get down to the low segment if and
when you can. (Don't even worry about that upper segment.) But do also peek
around 3560 and up, they'll be there too.

40m: Same thing applies as 80, there are two JA segments: 7030-7045 and
7045-7100. Be sure to look all the way down to that lower segment.

Even though US RTTY is normally above 7080, since this is DX most activity
will squeeze into 7030-7070 (EU too). You will find activity above 7080,
however, when the lower segment is packed.

On the upper bands JAs do still have DX limited bands but usually it isn't
an issue since the segments are far up the band. Still it is good to be
aware of the limits when the band gets super busy.

Hope this helps! Have fun - jeff wk6i
