I suggest just typing in the call, exchange etc. and then hit return.   Even 
though it is noted as a dupe, it will go into the log.  If the "Beep"  on 
duplicate bothers you, you can turn it off by typing in ALERTS in place of  the 
call and then unchecking the box.
