Drove 2 hours to eastern OK through the lightning storm only to try and
operate in the middle of it.

On 3830 N5TJ says "at least the lightning wasn't overhead", ya, it was
directly over LR.

Listened on the beverages the entire time. The S meter never went below
10 over S9 on the TX antennas, and that was 20 meters. You can imagine
what 40 and 80 were like.

I managed a 98 first hour (nice to be able to give K4AAA a number 1
ahead,88 of where he was, 87). Last qso was K5ZD at 0115z for 115
monoband 20
qsos. After working through several brown outs, W5TM came in at 0115 and
pulled all the plugs as  we thought the next strike would be a direct
hit. At 0125z the AC power went off and that was that.

Had 40 mults and still had not worked many easy ones like MD, NM, MI,
CO, MO.

Cool to work KL7WV who was FB on the NW beverage.
