Hello NCC:
Was unable to make Gooseapalooza, Warren, or NAQP SSB due to the last family
vacation of the summer. Need to get a FT100D so I can enjoy operating while
travelling.
Finally started the process of getting \everything done so I can install a
tower at our current QTH. Got the formal survey completed and certified
coordinates. Time to file with the FAA (I am close to an airport).
Planning on a 80' self supporter with tribander, 40m beam and various VHF
antennas. My optimistic goal is to having something complete in time for
the 10m contest... Sounds like a long time but it will be here before you
know it. Going to do a walk through of some land that is for sale.
Anything from 7 to 32 acres is available in a rural part of Mahoning County
and it is the highest point in the county to boot. With my luck, we'll
decide to buy the land just as the concrete is finished on the tower here.
Sign me up for a CW Sprint team. Won't promise many Q's, but I'll give it a
shot with my 100 watts and a dipole.
Don't forget OQP this weekend. Should be fun. Mad River has done a great
job of getting it going. We should all get on and support this up a coming
QSO party. I was hoping to be mobile, but will instead do what I can from
Mahoning County. II enjoy QSO parties and this should be fun.
Look forward to seeing you all sometime soon.
Take care and 73.... KB!
