Not a great effort, but a lot of fun. Spent more time meeting up with old contest friends than I did contesting. All in all, it was great time but the search and pouncing doesn't drive the score up very fast. Was using a friends Ten Tec Orion, but ended up with my Mark V. Orion is great rig, but like the Mark V, takes some getting used to. Obviously a contest is no time for learning! New 40 meter dipole that replaced old trap dipole did not pan out as planned. This really lowered my 40 meter Q's as I barely had any. Last outing was well over 100 and that was without trying. Stack worked great toward Europe, but sucked to the south. The highlight was a fine operator from Argentina taking time out to give me a short Spanish lesson.
