QSL on all.

Yes, Don is one of the great ones. Wow, talk about oral history! That guy
has such a great memory!

Did you talk to Don about using Philly? I really am convinced that, by the
time you break the guy wires up with insulators at appropriate lengths --
nothing close to resonance on ANY band -- your cost Delta is pretty
minimal.

Tell him to do this. Transmit on an antenna and watch the SWR as he
rotates the antenna. If, on any band, he sees a change, then his guy wires
are impacting his signal, at least a little.

You can also tell him that DXE has all the stuff and he can have it all in
a day.

I did put the caliper on several of the old Polygon wires. Looks like they
lost about .01" of diameter maximum. (From 0.375 to 0.365.) They don't
look nearly as bad when the sun isn't shining on them. (Greg came over to
take pictures yesterday and we didn't get the OMG factor there, either.

Very glad to have that one done. Will worry about the others later on.

I did find the bottle of "rust converter", called Neutra Rust 661. This
one says it was made in the UK for New York Bronze powder Co., Inc. (But
that was 20+ years ago.) Found something similar on the web:
http://neutrarustuk.com/neutrarust661.html

Looks like lots of products out there. Agree that this is a great Pete
project. (And applying this stuff makes a lot more sense than wire
brushing a whole tower.)

Safe travels back home.

73,
Tom
