decided to dabble for a few hours Saturday eve, mainly to try the new Spectrum Display window in N1MM and also try to figure out my 3L Hi Z array....fresh meat and new amp made for some great runs!!!! worked 363 x 81 =62,694, a few DX....my new SPE amp to the inverted L must be loud as I had 2 UA call me !!! (maybe I’ll look at the RBN to see how I was doing in EU).....looks like the spectrum display is a keeper, the HI-Z, still a work in progress....most of the EU I copied on the inv l as well, TM6 was actually louder on the Inv L and really not workable on the array.....the array works super on 40 and 80, not so good on 160, yet on the AM broadcast band, I can go to 1680, hear NJ while tuned that way, and go 180 degrees and NJ goes away and WI is there strong as ever, which I didn’t copy facing east....so I think the directivy and phasing is working.....some of the W6/VE6, 7 I worked I would not have worked without the array, so its working, just not on weaker dx stations.....I’m thinking my elements may be too short for 160, they are homebrew, 18 ft.....I’m going to add 5 ft of 7/8 tubing to the bottom, as I need more “sturd” (the 3/4 fiberglass rod from max gain is slightly smaller than expected, I’m told the 7/8 is a good fit).....should be in the teens next weekend, great WX for antenna work !!!!
