A tough weekend to W8 from down here. No eights in the W3USA log, only two (W8IQ and KE8G) on 20 from MR. Heard and called KW8N a few times, but no luck. Never heard a peep of W1NN! But AF8A had a pretty decent signal on 80. Missed MI on both 80 and 40. Heard W8/UT5UDX in MI once on 15, but weak and no QSO.
Have a good time at the meetings/parties next weekend. Anybody coming to Orlando in February?

Comments:
Operation from the Florida condo QTH: CushCraft dipole in the attic (40-10) and
52 foot wire in a tree with minimal ground system (80/160, and a rather noisy
environment.
Plugged away, with a late afternoon break to operate as W3USA at the waterfront
location and then dinner. In that time I missed the usual good 40 meter time,
and was way short there to the northeast until I found the band marginally open
around 0400z. Even then I missed 40 meter mults like NJ and MI!
I suspect a lot of the 160 QSOs (and some others) were with savvy ops who got a
letter or two and made a good informed guess of who and where I was :-)
