CQ Magazine is dedicated to the Ham Radio Hobby. It should NOT be
entering into World Politics. When something like this starts, where does
it go and how does it end? Don't we go to our Ham Radio to get our minds
OFF of the problems found elsewhere?

Is CQ trying to be like certain un-named Social Web Platforms that censor
content that they disagree with? I would have to cancel them if that turns
out to be the case.

As far as I know, none of the top Leaders in Russia are Hams. So, punishing
the thousands of Russian Hams who have absolutely nothing to do with
armed conflicts is totally and completely unwarranted and just plain wrong.

But there is a problem in Russia with information about what is going on in Ukraine. Here's a comment excerpted from the 3830 report of R5AJ for the Russian DX contest, mostly responding to CQ magazine not permitting Russian entries in their upcoming contests:

"I live in Russia and I am proud to be a Russian HAM. And I say to all of you: when CNN or Fox news will show 14,000+  young children, teenagers, women, men, old people killed in Donbas from 2014 up to now by the Nazi regime in Kiev just because they want to speak Russian and to go to the Russian Orthodox Church...you will be horrified. Let's go to Donbass  to see real happy people now. "

I'm not about to suggest jamming Russians or trying to engage in political conversations about what is happening in Ukraine. But clearly the Russian people, including hams, need to have a better idea of what is happening in Ukraine. Their state run propaganda isn't doing that.

And this politics has clearly has impacted the activities of hams in Ukraine.

Jon,
I feel no different than any other time. It's the Government that is the problemin RU and NOT the Hams or the every-day people themselves. Politics almostnever interfere with the activities of the Worldwide Ham Friendship.
