[Nodxa] IRC redemption revisited

Be prepared!. I took my own advice & went to the North Royalton post
office to redeem my IRC's. It turned out to be an interesting, albeit,
frustrating experience. To save some time & frustration, if you live on
the southwest side of Cleveland, DO NOT go to the North Royalton or
Parma (Day Drive) post offices. They do not have a clue & at Parma they
were very rude.
I called the Strongsville post office & had no problems. They did know
what an IRC was and were familiar with the redemption process. I stopped
in & the clerk, Sharron, took the IRC's, knew the redemption amount and
proceeded to redeem them. No hassle & no problems.
BTW, I did take a copy of the 372.4d to both the North Royalton & Parma
post offices. At both places they said their copy of the regulation
dated July of 2006 did not indicate that IRC's issued prior to 2002 were
still valid. What is even more interesting is that at both places they
only read half way through the first sentence in subpart d, they stopped
reading when they got to the part that said 'not be redeemable'. They
never got to the end of the sentence that said "after January 1, 2007".
Good luck to all,

(most from QSLs from my travels in the late 70s and early 80s) and took
them into the Beachwood Post Office on Tuesday. It took them 2 > days
to figure out what to do with them, but they tell me I'll have a bunch
of new stamps to take their place.
