I’ve known Dave since he was K8UQA back in the 60’s. He was always there in the VHF/UHF contests and band openings.
He was a real ham’s ham and also very patient with guys like me who were way less technically adept than him. 
I’ll greatly miss his presence on 6 meters as well as his dry sense of humor.
I’s so sad to see the good guys pass-especially at a relatively young age.
