Looking over the Hamvention schedule to check on vendor set up time availability, I noticed an interesting change from previous years: this year the flea market is scheduled to open to the general public at 9:00 am, rather than the 8:00 am opening that has been in practice for many years. I don’t know the reasoning, if any, for the change, but it could make for very interesting times if there is a crowd waiting for the gates to open at 8:00am, only to learn that 9:00am is now the opening time.

I did send an email to the Hamvention info and flea market mailboxes to ask it they have considered this situation, and lack of publicity on the matter. Nothing has been heard back, but I think it will be worth your while to check things out before showing up bright and early on Friday (or Saturday) morning.
