There is a DXpedition (TX5S) happening soon on Clipperton Island.

I found an interesting short video about the history of the island that
  reveals some amazing facts. Other much longer videos are available
  that contain much more and morbid information that would surprise
  you. At one point, the island was colonized with over 100 people.
