[RFI] Possible Satellite Internet Interference

Hi Larry,

There's an even better quick test to confirm that under-the-counter lamps
are, indeed, the problem: just have someone stay at the counter watching
them, whilst you go to the shack & send out a CW CQ call. Those nefarious
things are just as subject to being RFI'ed themselves, as they are in
generating RFI!

Don't be surprised , but I think your RFI issues are with
under counter lighting and the 20 khz. transformer used to power these
horrible rfi generating devices and not from a satellite system.

This comes from my personal experience with these devices and how far
reaching
these devices emit RFI in the surrounding neighbourhood.

Starting at 20khz and every harmonic there after, all the way passed 30mhz.
tese devices
radiate and RFI signal .

Esay to find with a portable AM broadcast radio tuned to the high end of
the band
above 1700 khz.
Because the AM broadcast signals cover up most of the offending RFI unless
you are
within 25 feet of the offending RFI device.

Good Luck.
