Hi Tom,
Lack of a grounding electrode shouldn't affect RFI; however, if
its true it isn't compliant with the National Electric Code and\ it
might be an electrical safety hazard.
Are you sure your service ground isn't connected to a water
pipe or a Ufer ground (uncommon in the 1960s).

Subject: [RFI] House Ground
I have just noticed that my home built in the 60's does not have an earth ground outside. Could that be causing some some of my weird RFI situations I am encountering. Been here a year almost now and just now really getting on the air.Symptoms ate noisy monitor (already put a lot of chokes on the leads), Monitor screen blacks out when treansmitting on 40 ... Ideas?Tom K5IID Finally there is a bit of joy in Mudville!http://www.dfwcontest.com K5IID Tom HortonFt. Worth Texas, 76133E sorter for ARRL W5 bureauSame call since 1956
