[RSM] June VHF Contest--W6NF

One one VE4 heard and that was VE4EAR, who I decoded once at -21 when he
responded to my CQ. Nothing else heard at all from Winnipeg.

The Sporadic-E openings were as sporadic as any I have heard in my years
on VHF. Seeing the signals some and go on the FT8 waterfall was like
watching the band "breathe" in 3 to 5 minute cycles. K5QE, for example,
would go from nothing to -17, to -3, back to -17 then back to nothing in
4 minutes. It happened more than once to them and quite a few other
stations. Knowing the east coast, and some stations in the southern US,
were working EU was frustrating, again.

Operating FT8 made me appreciate CW a bit more. A 10-second exchange,
from start to finish, sure is nice!

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the meeting Wednesday.

73,

Jack, W6NF/VE3RUA
Shelley, K7MKL
