When I was a kid in Milwaukee, Frank was usually my IL mult in VHF
contests. He could be routinely worked on four bands (6, 2, 220 and 432).

RIP, OM.

Jack, VE3RUA/K0JP (a/k/a W9CGX, Milwaukee, 1961)

Frank was a huge part of my 'radio life' for 40+ years - so sad what had
happened over the last few years.

I am sorry to report that after an illness for the last year or so that
Frank, K9HMB has passed on Tuesday. You might remember K9NS, the Mt. Frank
Contest group that operated at Frank's place over the years.

Frank had built an excellent contest station and was active on HF and VHF.
K9NS has held a few records in the DX, NAQP and VHF contests in the region.
Frank also had collected some fantastic Collins gear and kept most of the
gear he has used for contesting over the years. Most of the gear has been
sold and the remainder of the towers and antennas remain to be removed. It
was a treat to visit Frank's place and see how he did things.

Another great contester and DXer has passed.

Best wishes to his wife and family.

73, Craig K9CT
