DETAILS:
Date: Thursday, December 3, 2020 (even though the meeting begins on Dec 4, according to Zulu time)
Time: 7:00 PM Central STANDARD Time. That will be 0030z.
Speaker: Kevan Nason N4XL
Topic: Takeoff Angles & HFTA (HF Terrain Analysis)
Description: If you want to have a strong signal at the other end of your path, then radio wave take-off angles are arguably in the top two or three things to understand about your antenna system. After discovering that fact, Kevan, N4XL, asked himself how high should his HF antenna be? Higher is better, right? Usually, but not always. Higher towers mean more cost, more complexity, and higher cost. It also turns out higher does not always give you the strongest signal. Join Kevan as he shares information learned while making that important station design decision
