24 hours, SOLP -- no spots, no spectrum display, not even a band map.

Great activity from RSM. Worked VE4EA on 20M about30 minutes after my
2330Z start. Later, worked VE4XT and VE4VT on 15M, just 14 minutes apart.
Heard VE4GV on 20M (I think), but he seemed to be having noise problems; he
even CQed in my face a couple of times.

Heard VE3RUA on 20M (I think) early on, but did not nab him. Then he
called in during a run on 80M around 05Z. Thank you, Jack! (VE3ZI called
in toward the end.)

Other Canadian plainsmen were VE5SF (very active) and VE5ZX (not
encountered in many recent contests).

Could not break the pileup on VE6KC, even though I kept leaving for a while
and then coming back. I twice heard him QRT when the crowd got too unruly
-- and I don't blame him. Later I found VA6RCN, much weaker, but with a
similar unruly pileup. Again I left and came back, but this time the
competition was much smaller and I got him pretty easily. (He was also
weaker the second time. From here, I have to be aware of propagation
windows to work the western mult's, and to figure out if they are going to
get stronger or weaker. But I usually just spend a lot of time when they
first show up.)

I never heard VY1AAA or VY0ERC, though other people down here report
working them. You'd think that big antennas and high power would be the
key, but one local worked 'AAA with 80W and a dipole. OTOH, when I found
KL7SB on 15M around 2000Z, I got him on one call; go figure.

In one of my 80M runs with two hours to go, I got called by "(QRM/QRN
garble)-E4EA." I said "VE4EA QSO B4", while thinking "Cary knows that; why
is he calling?" Then my quick CQ brought NE4EA. Oh.

If anybody wants to join in, my PVRC Chapter has a GoToMeeting this
evening, 6PM CST. We'll be talking about SS, for sure. Link is below.

73, and thanks for the QSOs. More write-up will be on 3830scores.com
