I received the March/April 2007 issue of The DX Magazine this week. Three
(count 'em!) excellent articles about RTTY DXing in this issue:
"Some Basics for Digital Modes" by "Uncle DX"
"How to work DX using Digital Modes" by Doug Faunt, N6TQS
"Working the DXpedition, Digitally" by Dave Anderson, K4SV
There will be two big DXpeditions in April - N8S/Swains Island and
BS7H/Scarborough Reef. It sounds like Doug will be the RTTY op on Swains.
If you can't operate a split DX pileup properly and efficiently, you're just
QRM. I suggest you read all three articles from beginning to end.
Carl, N4AA starts out the issue with his Editorial:
"During the J20MM/J20RR DXpedition on 80 CW I was dumbfounded to hear two W3
stations doing one of the very things I have been taling [sic] about for
months. They called constantly, over and over, ignoring whatever the J20
station said, or who they came back to. I know these guys and they are not
newcomers, they have been around a LONG time and certainly know better. They
have fallen prey to the mindset of today... ME NOW, TO HECK WITH YOU"."
Please don't act like these two stations. You have two ears and only one
mouth, so you should be listening twice as often as talking (or sending).
