Actually, that is the way I think the macro should be set up.

If 3 or 4 stations are calling you, and who you come back gets covered up, 
if you send 'W7WHY 599 CO W0RAA' the other stations on frequency don't know 
who you came back to.

If you send 'W7WHY 599 CO W7WHY', there is no doubt who you are working.

In the scenerio where you send your own call, the station you are working is 
going to have to wait till you send your report again so they will know for 
sure who you are working.  IMHO.  73
