For those of you who missed Visalia or announcements this weekend on the
CQ-Contest reflector and radio-sport.net, a foundation has been created to
primarily support the volunteer log-checking infrastructure that has been in
place for many years for ARRL, NCJ, CQ and other contests. Not only have a
number of volunteers given generously of their time, some of them have also
personally provided funding where needed for servers, hosting, etc.
Potential future projects are limited by this informal reliance on such a
funding mechanism. The WWROF seeks to eliminate that restriction and raise
funding to keep contesting securely on the forefront of technology.

The focus of WWROF is on operating, with contesting specifically as a
premier means to develop and maintain top operating skill. As such,
depending on contributions, the foundation wishes to pursue efforts in
addition to contest log-checking, e.g., awards management, results/records
management, training programs (CTU, webinars), equipment donations,
worldwide wideband recording systems, Contester Code of Ethics, etc. This
will be a tremendous asset to contesting and operating in general.

Please visit the web site to learn more and consider a tax-exempt donation
to help move WWROF forward.
