Jeff,
I would say yes. One of the characteristics of a good communicator is to send in such a way that your message is likely to be received. Ignoring the loggers that are out there, or for that matter, a variety of other possible conditions on the distant end, just to try to go faster, does not make for effective  communications.

Gentlemen,

If the optimum "repeat" message is to use dash or space - whichever is 
opposite of your primary send, then is there an argument establishing the 
best primary (initial) send should be with space or with dash?

If I am reading this thread (and a couple of past ones) right - when 
considering the log software, a space is better for the initial message than 
a dash.

Is that correct?
