Don,
 Did that happen right after you tried to adjust your split on the Icom?
I did the same on the 3c and also later on with the t30 when I worked him.
I noticed that if you take the Icom PROIII out of split and adjust the receive and go back into 
split mode the xmit will match the receive freq and will not stay on the previous xmit freq.
I use the bottom vfo for xmit and top for recieve in split. I did not realize it until I got abused 
when calling the t30.
