Perhaps that applies to some rigs, but the last 4 radios I have used
for RTTY contesting and DXing (Kenwood TS-850, Kenwood TS-2000, Icom
756Pro3, and Yaesu FT-1000MP) had no problems running 100w on RTTY for
entire contests. I never had a PA failure with any of those radios.
