[RTTY] Roundup observations - a bit long!

That's my theory. When like 63 multipliers are from CONUS and Canada, it's clear that the ARRL takes the 'A' in 'ARRL' seriously.

Do you think the difference is that it is the AMERICAN Radio Relay League RTTY Roundup vs CQ's Worldwide contests? The perception by DX stations being that it is a US contest, rather than a WW contest?

Its a major RTTY contest but DX participation from my perspective is down for RU when compared to others like CQWW RTTY contests where there's lots of DX. One could simply prove or disprove this theory by comparing the numbers of DX entries across the major RTTY contests.

Personally, I think the rules/awards don't give DX much incentive to get into this one nor do they give US stations muchincentive to work DX, particularly on 80 and 10. I usually can't do much in this contest due to its proximity to the holidays, but that's just me. This year was no exception.JohnNN1SS (ex K1FWE)
