And if you are not interested yet in diving into 8.1, you can buy a very
good refurbished computer that come with win7 pro-64 for under $200. Some
of them even have serial ports, and I was able to find and install the
driver for my venerable 8-port serial card without too much trouble. Two
vendors that I have had success with are TigerDirect and Newegg. (Just a
