[RTTY] Fwd: FW: Fwd: N1MM and Windows 7 install problem

I don't know how deep you guys get into computers but I'll attempt to
explain anyway. I run 64 bit Ubuntu Linux 16.04. I created a guest
Windows 7 OS session using virtualbox. I created a guest Windows XP
session also. Anyway, I also installed MMTTY on the Linux host using
Wine. MMTTY FSK and receive works fine under wine so I know that my
cabling to the rig is OK. The Linux version of fldigi sees the line in
(receive) audio also. However, fldigi, MMTTY, and 2tone can't see the
audio in either virtualbox Windows sessions. There are no error messages
in either Windows. So, why doesn't the Windows software see the line in
audio of the sound card? Virtualbox does have some audio settings for HD
audio, AC97, and SB16 - none of those settings fixes the problem. If I
can figure out to how to make N1MM run under wine I won't need to mess
with Windows anymore. I hope I've given a clearer picture of what I'm
doing.

Do you have the plugs in the sockets of the sound card? Some (maybe the
majority today) sound cards detect whether a plug is inserted. If no plug
then it will not appear available for use and thus will not be listed by the
operating system to its applications.

Morale is connect up your radio to the sound card and then open the
application software.

I got it N1MM installed but FSK doesn't work and neither 2tone nor MMTTY can
see the sound card on either WinXP or Win7. The sound card driver did load
with no errors and I can play streaming music so it doesn't appear to be a
sound card problem. I guess I'll try Win10 next.

I tried doing a fresh install of Win7 3 times but N1MM won't complete the
install process. It hangs when trying to install .NET 4. The files download
OK but nothing happens on the install process.
