Will,

I wouldn't get too wrapped up in what others are doing. If we follow the
original rules set forth by the WRTC 2002 committee, we were asked to
provide 5 nominees each for the East and West Coasts.

Bruce has agreed to create the standings list I requested and place it on
the Web. W4AN's comment that there are ops that are not part of the selected
clubs, and those such ops may be overlooked is a possibility. But, with the
list of top 5 - 10 winners of the Sprint, NAQP and SS, those ops should
become apparent.

Now, if the WCTC committee is asking the selected US list of clubs to come
up with a single list of 10 ops, that's a different matter. In that case,
the SCCC, as he states may only be able to nominate two ops. I don't think
this is in the best spirit since each club would probably nominate only two
of their own members. This is not what we were asked. The WRTC 2000 did it
differently and did ask for members from each Club.

I guess this original list is for team captains. The captains would then
pick their own partner. Again with the proposed list of standings for the
Sprint, NAQP & SS, all the top US ops should be present. This could provide
captains another option in selecting their partners.

And yes, the SCCC needs to know which members are truly interested. We
certainly do have more qualified ops available, but do they want to take the
time and make the effort to represent the SCCC?

My comments,

Ray, N6VR
