FYI: While I usually join one of the SCCC teams for the Sprint, I took a
different course for this last one. I organized a group of guys from AZ,
NM and OK to operate in the Sprint. We called the team the Azenmokers.
The objective in forming this team was to get some guys on for the Sprint
who don't normally operate in that contest. And by securing their
agreement to be on a team, the rationale was that they would be more likely
to honor their commitment and actually get on the air, even if they didn't
make a lot of contacts.
While not everybody on the Azenmokers was a Sprint Novice, I'm pleased that
there were a few callsigns from the AZ-NM-OK area that you might not have
heard in past Sprints. And had I directed the effort to sign up guys from
this area to be on a SCCC team, I suspect that they would not have been as
cooperative!
