Hi Don,

Great job with your QRP station! I hear the Elecraft Receivers are
excellent
high performance radios!

I am amazed on the number of Qs you did ( of course the antenna
helps as
it really is ERP and not QRP that really does the trick) but I worked MANY QRP
guys especially on Sunday and I went to great pains to pull them out of the
noise
and also repeat their entire exchange back to them to be sure it was a valid
contact !! Some were 1 dB below my imagination but persistence paid off !

NX6T did not do a real serious effort this year as the K6AM team
lost the W6KP site and I
was just getting over a bad cold or else we would have set up the war wagon
to go after N6VR
our nemesis...wait'll next year ! ( My station needed more antennas
erected and station rebuilt to
really compete )

Did around 850 Qs in 16 hours of casual 1 radio operating and
invited some new CW aspiring
contestors in training over but only one Op, NC6X, showed up and only for
2 hours only doing S & P,
with 1 radio one needs to call CQ to get an effective rate.

I say that SS CW exchange has to be the toughest exchange to copy
of ANY contest and I think it can be intimidating for new CW Ops, so
probably why the others bailed. Need to build up their code speed and
confidence but that just takes time, persistence and good training.
