Summer Bash - SCCC Meeting

The Southern California Contest Club will meet at the SCDXC-SDDXC
"Summer Bash," at K6NA's in Valley Center (near Escondido). The Bash
starts at 1 PM on Sunday, August 21, 2005.

SCCCers are welcome to arrive as early as 11 AM if anyone would like
to kick tires and/or antennas before things actually start. Glenn
Rattmann, K6NA, has one of the biggest single-op stations in
California, and the station is worth a visit.

Note that the name of the street to turn off of from Valley Center
Road is actually Calle de Vista, the street Glenn lives on.

Please use this SCCC reflector to arrange carpools. Parking will not
be ample, and there will likely be over 100 people attending.

ARRL Convention - Riverside

There will also be SCCC activity at the ARRL Southwestern Division
Convention in Riverside on the weekend of September 9, 10, and 11. I
hope to have some sort of Contest Forum, possibly on Saturday, at a
time that does not conflict with the ARRL Forum. Details later.

There will be a W1AW/6 operation at the convention. We are trying to
get a somewhat serious effort going for the VHF Contest that weekend.
More later as well.

SCCC President Needed

The guy still serving as SCCC president has somewhat of a full plate
with ARRL Director duties. It would be swell if someone would
volunteer to help. The duties of the president are to arrange some
meetings, usually at member's homes.
