[SCCC] SCCC Gathering at ARRL Riverside Convention

Southern California Contest Club members will gather at the ARRL 
Southwestern Division Convention in Riverside, on the weekend of 
September 9, 10, and 11. There will be a Contest Forum at 6 PM on 
Friday, which will serve as somewhat of an SCCC meeting.

There will also be an ARRL Forum at 4 PM on Saturday, where BPL and the 
bandwidth proposal will be discussed.

ARRL's Contest Rate Sheet Editor, Ward Silver, N0AX, is Saturday night's 
banquet speaker. There is a DX breakfast on Sunday morning.

W1AW/6 will be active with several stations, and some of us will 
hopefully help with activity in the weekend's contests, which include 
the CW Sprint, WAE phone,  and ARRL September VHF QSO Party.

The convention committee reports that there are presently an 
insufficient number of hotel room-nights reserved at the Riverside 
Marriott, and the convention is in danger of losing money. Help would be 
appreciated. There is a special convention rate of $105 per night for up 
to 4 in a room available. Reservations are at (951) 784-8000. Be sure 
and ask for the ARRL rate, which also gives the convention credit for 
your business.
