Comments:

After trying Sprints in the past and finishing with a feeling that
they just were not fun for me, somehow Doug's ever persistent begging
for Ops finally got to me like a Crispy Creme Donut Ad 10 minutes before
dinner!
( ..and the fact I now have a IC-7800 with 2 real receivers and great
display markers to help
keep track of the frequency excursions......should hopefully lessen the
stress ! )

OK, So I am thinking, I got to get in a good mental state to be able to
concentrate.
Get plenty rest, practice with MorseRunner, eat all the special brain food
like K6NA recommends
N6KT eats before he knocks off 10,000 Qs at HC8A, take a great Siesta power
nap an hour or two before the contest.
( Were Crispy Creme on that list )

Great,..... now in the mental mood, I sit down Friday eve to get the rig and
software
tweaked and peaked. Get to 80 mtr band to get my markers set on the antenna
tuner
so my amp will be happy and ...ZAP !....the 4 month old ICOM IC-7800
transmitter section blows up....
Murphy's Karma just ran over my Dogma....So much for the good mood !

(All my other spare rigs are down for the count or out on loan ( including
the K3 which I
loaned to K1EA so he could update CT software and run the contest with it
this weekend ! )

So, I fire off an e-mail to Doug that basically says in my distressed
Brooklyn accent ...FAGHEDDABOUTIT !
( Doug fires back...no problem...your on team 2, THINKABOUTIT ! )

So, Late Saturday morning I calmly sit down and repeat the relaxing
mediation mantra ...Ohm...Ohm...Ohm...
Hmmm..that's not working....... so after 5 seconds of intense Dali Lama
proven meditational concentration,
I contact Bob, N6OX and ask to steal his IC-7800 for the contest....

Anyway....stole Bob's 7800 got back up and running 20 minutes before contest
start
although my Zen Chi and Hua calmness is torpedoed I jumped right in.

My goal was 200 Qs and 10 K as I had never done that well in previous
attempts
and 225 Qs and barely missed 10K, made my day.

Need to make less mistakes in the exchange that tells whether you stay or
move
and read some more AAR (After Action Report) strategies from the pros !

Now to somehow get in the mood to decide to work the SSB Sprint...
Ohm.....Ohm......Ohm.......
