I can confirm Marty's observation. Our new Mt.Dali Dona QTH (Kelseyville,CA)
has a very fancy PV system with controllers inverters etc from Outback
Systems.  The input voltage from the panels, which is continuously
displayed,  varies all over the map.  So use those panels to charge
batteries and run the rig off the batteries not the panels.
