[SCCC] patent search

Does anyone know anyone who knows how to do a specific patent search for 
a patent that might have been issued in the early 1900's for prop pitch 
gearboxes? Electric-powered ones of the sort we use on antennas that 
were built 70/80 years ago.

For someone who's never been there before the USPTO web might just as 
well be written in Esperanto. The good news is, they do offer extensive 
free training classes on how to use the databases, yes plural, to find 
stuff. In Virginia.
