Everyone should read Dave Sumner's letter at the link below re Congress's plans for the 440 MHz amateur band. ARRL opposes the wholesale auctioning of an amateur band to make up for revenue shortfalls from dedicating certain frequencies to public safety services. Once Congress starts this, it is a slippery slope, and they will feel free to horse our other amateur bands around for sale when the spirit moves them. A letter to your Congressman is important in opposing Repr. King's bill.
