I spoke to a seller in Otay Mesa south of San Diego. With our non-profit
status, he is willing to sell us new Rigol DS1102E 100 MHz digital oscilloscopes
for $339 each, no tax, no shipping (we pick up at his facility). The unit lists
for $399. These are the small, lightweight digital scopes. I have been looking
for one for years since my huge Tektronics scope died, but the small digital
scopes seemed to retail from $900-$1300. This unit is probably fine for my
ham-related work, and more.

Seller says Rigol used to manufacture the small digital scopes for Agilent, but
then struck out on its own. Seller, who used to work for Tektronics scopes, says
he has had no warranty problems or complaints with these Rigol scopes.
(Seller's info below.) One YouTube video complains that there is an audible fan,
one says his screen flickered, one said he had a problem with a button, but
those are the only one-shot complaints I could find.

Any comments from others who know more (or who can secure lower price) are
welcome, so please respond to the club broadcast lists above.
