Hi,
Thanks to Ken for sharing the descriptions of his two SO2R setups and to Jim for posting them on the club web site. I had recently exchanged e-mails with Ken about the design of his SO2R setups since I'm in the process of completely rebuilding my ham shack and am interested in the arrangement of multiple transceivers from an ergonomic point of view.
After seeing the photos, a couple of questions for Ken:
1) What's the thinking behind the use of the boom mike at VY2TT?
2) What's the box (has a lit green light) behind the keyboard at K6LA?
3) What spacing is there between the top of the K3s and the bottom of the shelf directly over them (concerned about restricting air flow)?
Since a number of SCCCers are proficient at SO2R, I'd be interested in hearing from others about their approach to SO2R station layout and how they addressed ergonomic issues. Some have experience as guest ops at a number of stations, so it'd be interesting hear about the variations they experienced and how it affected their efficiency. Also, has anyone used a gaming mouse with multiple controls as a substitute for keyboard shortcuts and mouse clicks?
Thanks.

I have posted an article about setting up an SO2R station by K6LA. Ken
describes his set up at both the K6LA and VY2TT stations.
