In August 2013, exactly 2 years ago, Alan visited at N6ZFO with his new
friend Vicki and her two daughters. Among other activities we spent an
enjoyable night watching an excellent Perseid meteor display from the N6ZFO
mountaintop, Mt. Dali-Dona.

I've posted two pictures of that visit, one at breakfast and one in our
vineyard at

nsladder.blogspot.com

Many other pics on Alan's FB page, referenced to Vicki's page.

With respect to Alan's condition: he seemed fine to me; I ask visitors (of
any age) if they want to drive down to the winery for the tour or walk,
realizing the 200 ft vertical climb up the short road to the house is
challenging for some, especially in the hot wx, as it was during their
visit. Alan walked up without much difficulty, but chose to rest a couple
times. Others, younger than Alan, do not even venture the climb, although
most do. As for Alan's gravelly voice, I think that's been with him for a
long time, or so he told me. Have never heard of a connection between
gravelly voice and heart condition, although perhaps one of our medically
knowledgeable members can comment (Arnie?) more authoritatively. OK,
Arnie, I do know your expertise lies lower in the body.

N6ZFO's post to nccc-blue reflector previously:

Alan KO7X's most recent visit to N6ZFO at Mt. Dali-Dona was in August 2013
in the company of his friend Vicki and her two daughters Emily and Sarah.
We spent a fabulous evening watching the Perseids meteor shower from our
mountain top and instructing the girls in astronomy matters. Many photos
are posted on Alan's FB page (referenced to Vicki's page) and with Alan's
good humor intertwined.

Alan's interesting Scottish Fold cat stayed at Vicki's home in Utah for
that visit. Alan had visited previously with [his XYL] Eileen, and the
Scottish Fold cat, in 2011. After Eileen passed away in 2012, Alan and
Vicki re-connected, having become friends some years ago while they both
worked at Evans and Sutherland, the Utah computer graphics company which
now also markets full-dome planetarium shows.
