It was an honor to be a part of the top Field Day team in 1980 (N6VI/6, June
2015 QST, page 102). It was a QRP operation with big beams on tower
trailers. Our Field Day record stood for many years.

Roger (Larry) Deran -- N6FE in the QST photo -- is now NB6E. Since 1970,
Larry and I have been a part of the same Field Day team about 30 times.

My vote: Field Day is a contest.
