N6MI, K6VCR, NB6E, and Tim (no call yet) embarked on a Monterey County
expedition to operate the 2015 California QSO Party.

We set up on Friday.

Our gear included a FlexRadio 6500, an ACOM 600S (about 600 watts), a 40
meter vertical on the ground, a four element 20 meter beam (at 60 feet on
the N6MI contest van -- n6mi.com), a three element mini 15 meter yagi (at 25
feet on a push up mast), and a 10 meter dipole (at 15 feet).

Our results:

160: none

80: 11 CW, 3 PH (loading up the 40 meter antenna -- not recommended)

40: 196 CW, 50 PH

20: 324 CW, 472 PH

15: 7 CW, 120 PH

10: 36 CW, 0 PH

Our raw claimed score is 174,696 (574 CW x three, plus 645 x two, multiplied
by 58 sections).

We worked out last section (Quebec) on Sunday morning.

We worked the GOLD RUSH stations, too.

Thank you, contest sponsors!

P.S.

We still can't figure out if we prefer the Elecraft K3 or the FlexRadio
6500. Both are great contest radios. However, one of us (N6MI) truly loves
the mesmerizing waterfall display on the FlexRadio.

73,

The N6MI team
