[SCCC] N1MM with Icom 7600 interface

Hi Ray,

I'm not familiar with the 7600, and I'm not sure what the 1st cable is
configured for but I am guessing it is for CAT control.

I'll throw this out there as a potential solution for you. I used a cable
similar to this one on eBay to interface from USB on my PC to my TS-940S,
and when I replaced that rig with a FTDX3000D last year, I continued to use
the same cable.

The important thing when shopping for these particular cables is to get one
with the FTDI chip.

By the way, I run this to a Y-cable (1/4 inch phone mono) so that I can have
its output paralleled with my external keyer. Yes, the 3000 had an internal
keyer but instead of fooling around, I simply migrated everything I already
had configured with the 940S to the new 3000D. Why fool with success, right?
Besides, the 3000D memory keyer features weren't as handy as an external
keyer. By using this configuration, I can key the rig from my PC (via
keyboard or logging program) or the keyer and paddle. This set up works very
well for me. Others likely have other good solutions to share here.

Subject: [SCCC] N1MM with Icom 7600 interface

I am trying to get the N1MM program to work with my Icom 7600. Program is
working but need some type of interface to go between the computer and radio
(IC 7600) to send CW from the keyboard. I have the USB cable in place (1st
cable) but apparently need a 2nd cable and interface for CW operation from
the keyboard. Has anyone run into this problem and solved it? Ray WB6L
