Subject: [SCCC] January VHF Roving Sites

Hello Group,

This last year I've been entering the VHF contests as a hilltop-portable
entry, but this coming January I'm thinking about entering as a rover
for the first time. (In January its difficult to find a high spot that
isn't showed in where I can camp overnight.) I was wondering if anyone
can recommend good operating sites around LA? I need two sites for
operating from DM03 and DM04. Any suggestions?

For the route overall, I have in mind a route starting from Temecula,
stopping in LA, and then continuing up the 5 to Avenal, and then Concord
at the farthest north. After that I would return down the 99 to Madera,
over the mountains along the 58 to Boron, and then south along the 395
back to the inland empire. The sequence of grid squares activated would
be: DM13, DM03, DM04, DM05, CM95, CM96, CM97, CM87, CM88, CM98, DM07,
DM06, DM15, and then DM14.

73,

Brandon Clark, N6BSC
