No; I strongly agree. In fact, even though I'm aware it's a losing 
cause, I urge pushing both ft4 and ft8 up into the phone band where 
they belong, with all their modulated tones. If you overdrive a CW or 
RTTY signal, so what, it doesn't make it spread out and splatter 
(although bad keying may create key clicks). But overdrive a 
modulated-tone mode and it spreads all over the place, as some 
europeans are doing right now.
